A riveting white floral wrapped in animalic warmth, Opus IX blends jasmine and the imagined aura of camellia with a prickle of black pepper, then moves through a textured heart of leather, guaiac wood, and beeswax before settling into a long trail of civet, ambergris, and vetiver that feels opulent, dramatic, and unmistakably Library Collection.

Story and Positioning
Created as the ninth chapter of Amouage’s Library Collection, Opus IX is presented in three acts that move from luminous white florals with spicy facets to a leathered core, finally resolving in a warm, animalic finale. The creative brief drew inspiration from Maria Callas in La Traviata, giving the fragrance a theatrical, couture mood that suits evening wear and statement occasions. Those who enjoy jasmine leather with refined animalic depth will find it a singular choice within the Library narrative.
Bottle and Design
Originally presented in a striking red flacon that signalled its diva-like theme, the bottle is a substantial rectangular form with smooth contours, gold detailing, a polished cap that seats with a confident click, and an atomizer that delivers a fine, even mist for controlled wear. Later Library releases adopted a serene archival aesthetic, keeping the line cohesive while preserving the chapter identity on bottle and box.
