A richly textured woody amber, Opus XIII Silver Oud paints oud in chiaroscuro. The opening moves quickly from cypriol and patchouli into Virginia cedar, then unfurls an Assam oud wrapped in Madagascar vanilla that feels both smoky and plush. Castoreum, birch, guaiac wood and ambrarome deepen the leathered trail, while the literary inspiration from Stendhal lends a brooding, elegant mood.

Story and Positioning
Conceived as an olfactive reading of The Red and the Black, Silver Oud explores tension between clarity and impulse through woods, leather, and amber. It is presented as an eau de parfum at 20 percent oil concentration and is aged for six weeks for depth and polish. As part of the renewed Library Collection, the chapter moved to a permanent 100 millilitre format, doubling the earlier flacon size.
Bottle and Design
The Library silhouette here is serene and substantial, a rectangular glass flacon in soft ivory with the Amouage crest and the Roman numeral XIII announcing its place in the series. A polished metal cap crowns the bottle with a precise, satisfying fit, and the atomizer gives a fine, even mist that controls wear. The refreshed Library design emphasizes quiet luxury while standardising the 100 millilitre presentation for a cohesive shelf presence.
